Opening Note

October is about connection at Mexico Health Concierge.

As we prepare to meet Canadians in person this November, we are also strengthening our presence in Canada, continuing to build our provider network in Guadalajara, and helping clients better understand both established and emerging healthcare options available in Mexico.

This month, we are sharing four updates that reflect where MHC is headed: our five-city Canada tour, the addition of Stacey Strilchuk to our Canadian team, why Guadalajara remains at the heart of our healthcare network, and an educational look at ibogaine treatment in Mexico.

The common thread is simple: better information, trusted local coordination, and a more personal way to access private healthcare in Mexico.

Five Cities. One Conversation About Better Access to Care.

Mexico Health Concierge is coming to Canada this November.

Next month, we will be traveling across Canada to meet people face-to-face and talk about something we hear about every day: what options exist when someone wants timely access to private healthcare outside the traditional pathway?

Our mid-November tour is being planned around five cities:

Vancouver  •  Kelowna  •  Edmonton  •  Calgary  •  Toronto

Rather than simply presenting a list of procedures, we want these events to be practical conversations. We will explain how Mexico Health Concierge works, what private care in Guadalajara can look like, how quotes and medical information are coordinated, what travel and appointment support can include, and when seeking care in Mexico may - or may not - make sense for an individual.

We will also discuss executive health check-ups, advanced diagnostics, specialist care, orthopedics, dental care, regenerative medicine, and other services MHC helps coordinate.

Most importantly, the presentations will give you a chance to meet us, ask direct questions, and better understand what the entire healthcare journey can look like before deciding whether Mexico is right for you.

Mexico Health Concierge welcomes Stacey Strilchuk as Canadian Business Development Representative, strengthening MHC's presence across Canada.

Strengthening Our Canadian Presence: Welcome Stacey Strilchuk

We are pleased to welcome Stacey Strilchuk as Mexico Health Concierge's Canadian Business Development Representative.

Based in Alberta, Stacey will work with patients, clinics, hospitals, healthcare organizations, community stakeholders, and other relevant contacts across Canada.

She brings more than 25 years of experience in Canadian healthcare. Stacey spent eleven years as Executive Director of an Alberta primary care network, where she helped lead a team of 50 physicians and 30 health professionals serving a patient population of approximately 40,000. Earlier in her career, she oversaw a physician workforce portfolio for one of Canada's larger health regions. She has also built two healthcare consulting practices and held senior governance roles in the sector.

For MHC, Stacey brings something particularly valuable: a deep understanding of how the Canadian healthcare system works and the ability to help bridge the conversation between Canadian patients, healthcare professionals, and the private-care options we coordinate in Mexico.

For Canadians exploring care in Mexico, that means there is now someone on the ground in Canada who understands both the questions people are asking and the system they are navigating.

If you know a physician, clinic, organization, or individual who would benefit from learning more about MHC, Stacey would be pleased to connect.

Why Guadalajara Stands Apart for Private Healthcare in Mexico

“Guadalajara is a city first - and a medical destination second.”

When Canadians and Americans think about medical travel in Mexico, destinations such as Tijuana, Cancún, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta often come to mind first. These cities have excellent physicians and clinics, but MHC has deliberately built much of its network in Guadalajara.

Why? Because Guadalajara combines a large local healthcare market, nationally recognized hospitals, extensive medical training, deep specialist access, competitive pricing, and an authentic Mexican experience.

A Local Healthcare Market

Guadalajara's private medical system serves a large local population every day. That matters because providers are operating inside a major metropolitan healthcare market rather than relying primarily on international medical tourists.

Pricing still varies by provider and procedure, and we do not claim that every tourist destination automatically charges more. But geography can matter. In one published 2026 dental-implant comparison, Guadalajara's listed average was approximately 20% below Puerto Vallarta, 24% below Tijuana, and 57% below Cabo San Lucas.

At MHC, our goal is not to find the lowest price. Wherever possible, we work within the local Guadalajara market and seek strong value from reputable physicians, hospitals, and clinics without creating a special 'foreigner package' simply because a client comes from Canada or the United States.

A Deep Medical Ecosystem

Guadalajara is home to a remarkable concentration of private and academic healthcare institutions. In the 2024 Expansión/FUNSALUD private-hospital ranking, multiple Guadalajara-area hospitals appeared among Mexico's national top 50. The city's public academic hospitals have also received national recognition.

That depth matters because real healthcare rarely fits neatly into one procedure. A client may need a second specialist, additional imaging, cardiology input, pathology review, or a different treatment pathway. A major medical city gives us more options when the situation changes.

A City That Trains Physicians

Guadalajara is also an important medical-training center. The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine reports approximately 4,500 active medical students from Mexico, the United States, Central America, and South America, along with agreements with more than 120 hospitals in Mexico and the United States for clinical rotations.

Its International Medicine Program has graduated more than 19,000 physicians, and UAG is also Arizona State University's first strategic university partner in Mexico.

Add the University of Guadalajara, Hospital Civil de Guadalajara, major teaching programs, specialists, and research activity, and the result is a city with a genuine medical culture - not simply a collection of clinics serving visitors.

And Then There Is Guadalajara Itself

For clients who have time before or after their appointments, Guadalajara offers far more than a hospital visit. The historic center, Teatro Degollado, Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, world-class food, mariachi, tequila country, and the UNESCO-listed Hospicio Cabañas all offer a chance to experience a richer side of Mexico.

For us, that matters. If someone is already traveling for healthcare, we want the destination to add something positive to the experience.

Why MHC chose Guadalajara: competitive local-market value • nationally recognized hospitals • experienced specialists • medical-training institutions • advanced diagnostics • broad provider choice • authentic Mexico

Understanding ibogaine treatment in Mexico, including medical screening, monitoring, and integration support coordinated through Mexico Health Concierge.

Understanding Ibogaine Treatment in Mexico

An emerging approach to addiction treatment - and why careful medical screening matters.

Ibogaine has received growing attention as an investigational treatment being explored for substance dependence, particularly opioid addiction. Derived from the Tabernanthe iboga plant native to Central and West Africa, ibogaine is a powerful psychoactive substance that has been studied for its potential to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings in some people.

Early clinical and observational research has produced encouraging findings, but the evidence remains incomplete. Ibogaine should not be described as a proven cure for addiction.

Why Do Some People Travel to Mexico?

Ibogaine is not authorized for use in Canada, and in the United States it remains a Schedule I controlled substance. As a result, some Canadians and Americans who want to explore ibogaine treatment look internationally, including to specialized programs in Mexico.

One reason for the interest is the possibility of what is sometimes called an “addiction interruption” - a period in which withdrawal symptoms or cravings may be reduced, potentially creating space for deeper recovery work.

That distinction matters. Ibogaine is not a substitute for long-term recovery. Counseling, addiction medicine, psychological support, family involvement, lifestyle change, and aftercare may all continue to be important.

Medical Screening Is Essential

Ibogaine can affect the heart's electrical activity and may contribute to dangerous abnormal heart rhythms in susceptible individuals. That makes medical screening, medication review, cardiac evaluation, laboratory testing, patient selection, and appropriate monitoring especially important.

This is not a treatment that should be approached casually or selected simply because a program is available.

MHC & IbogaQuest

Mexico Health Concierge is helping individuals and families who want to explore ibogaine treatment in Mexico and determine whether it may be appropriate to discuss with an experienced provider.

One of the providers we are working with is IbogaQuest in Tepoztlán, Mexico. Their model combines medical screening and monitoring with preparation, psychotherapy, integration, and continued recovery support.

MHC does not administer ibogaine or determine medical suitability. Our role is to help organize the initial consultation, medical information, provider communication, travel, transportation, and other logistical details.
